11th FEBRUARY 1858, Bernadette Soubirous (14 years old) went to the Grotto to gather firewood. She saw for the first time a lady in white. She was wearing a white dress, with a white veil, a blue waistband and a yellow rose on each foot, the same color as the chain of the rosary. She was the Immaculate Conception. Bernadette saw here 17 times more with a lot of others people. 

There was a spring and the Immaculate Conception said "Go and drink at the spring and wash yourself there" (Apparition Thursday 25th February 1858).

Water has flowed uninterruptedly since the 25th of February 1858.

Today, hundreds of able-bodied or sick people bathe there every day helped by qualified volunteers.
